Our Team

Our staff team is widely experienced and regularly supported and supervised by the Services Manager. We have the range of competencies necessary to engage, provide for the needs of young people and run a successful organisation:

Within the management team we have combined experience of over 30 years working with children and young people. Their skillset includes youthworking, management qualifications, a qualified teacher with experience of early years development, Diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and the use of CBT and talking therapies

Our team skillset includes:

  1. Those qualified to teach post 14- adult students
  2. Qualified assessors/verifiers of curriculum work
  3. Qualified youth workers
  4. Qualified counsellors
  5. Level 3 or higher Child Development Qualifications – 4 of our staff
  6. Level 3 or higher qualifications in information advice and guidance
  7. Staff with various degrees: 4 staff
  8. Sports Science qualifications and personal trainer
  9. Team Leading qualifications
  10. All staff Ecaf trained
  11. Corenet trained – Psychological assessment and record keeping


Over recent years, a range of staff have accessed the following training opportunities:

  • Non Violent Crisis Intervention – whole day all staff
  • Safeguarding Children and Young people – all staff March 2013 (C4.5.5.)
  • Safeguarding Young People with a Disability or Additional Needs
  • Safer Recruitment practices – (C4.8.2.) CEO and one other
  • Children who display sexually harmful behaviour
  • First Aid – most staff
  • Food and Hygiene Level 2
  • Protective Behaviours
  • Ending Gang and Serious youth Violence Training Day
  • Music Production Level 2
  • Toxic Trio – issue for parents and children who are compromised by substance misuse and mental health conditions


We take seriously the need to stay up to date with current educational practices, Local Authority statutory requirements and government directives relating to our sector and therefore we endeavour to release staff for training as and when necessary in order to improve our care of and delivery to young people we work with. We are currently booking all staff onto a range of relevant courses with Sandwell Safeguarding Board for this next calendar year.

In addition to paper qualifications, our staff team has a wealth of relevant experience from prior work places and volunteering such as: running youth clubs in a community setting, project leading a volunteering programme, working with severely disabled young people and adults in a care home setting, working with homeless young people and those in care homes, working for the statutory Youth Service, teaching young adults with SEN to name but a few.
