We have some exciting summer activities lined up, taking place on 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th August, 11am – 1pm. All sessions will cost £2 per person, payable on arrival (free for those who have free school meals) and will take place at The Pod, next to Thornbury Skate Park, BS35 3UR.
The age is strictly for 11 years and over (including those who are still 10 but going into school year 6 in Sept 21).
All sessions will include a mix of activities, such as creative arts/craft and outdoor games/sport. Wednesdays will also include healthy eating activities/cooking. Thursdays will also include bushcraft/forest skills, and on 12th and 19th a dance and vocal workshop. Of course, there will also be the opportunity to just chill and chat. All activities will be outside, so please be prepared for the weather conditions.
Refreshments will be provided and The Pod kitchen will be open to purchase additional snacks/tuc if required. All activities will be outside, so please be prepared for the weather conditions.
As Covid restrictions are easing, we will not require pre-booking for any of these sessions. Please feel free to just come along. To make the booking-in process easier on the day, you can download and complete the following permission/registration form and bring it along with you. If there is any specific information that you would like us to know about your child before you come, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to current self-isolation requirements, it is possible that any sessions maybe cancelled at short notice if staff members are ‘pinged’ by track and trace. We recommend checking our Facebook page and/or website on the morning where we will post info if we are unable to run the session.
Please note, The Pod is in a public environment next to Thornbury Skate Park and community woodland. As these are ‘drop-in’ sessions, you need to be confident that your child will remain in the supervised activities. Krunch staff cannot take responsibility for participants who choose to leave/wander off during the stated session times.
The Skate Fest is a family event at the skate park on Saturday August 21st. There will be a whole range of fun activities, such as inflatables, graffiti workshops and a skate competition. Please do put the date in your diary – we would love to see you there! More info to follow.
Youth Clubs Recommence 8th September
Our youth clubs are held twice a week in Thornbury, staffed by an experienced team of local youth workers.
Wednesday evening is our JUNIOR youth club, for all young people in school years 6, 7 and 8; 6.30pm-8pm, at Turnberries Community Centre.
Thursday evening is our SENIOR youth club, for all young people in school years 9 and above;6.30pm-8pm, at Turnberries Community Centre
Young people are welcome to just turn up and hang out, or take part in a range of activities such as pool, games consoles, craft, cooking, music, football/sport. There is a small admission charge of £1 per session. At the moment young people aged 11 and over will need to wear a face covering unless seated to take part in an activity or eating/drinking. Numbers will be limited to 15 to ensure safe social distancing measures.
We also organise trips out and activities during school holidays.
In addition, on Wednesday evenings (6.30pm – 8pm) we are working with Jigsaw Thornbury running ‘Positively Us‘ a youth club for young people with additional needs, aged 13 plus. Venue to be confirmed. Please get in touch for further details.
With the recommencing of youth clubs we would like to take the opportunity to update our database. All young people will be asked to complete a Youth Club registration form, which you can download here and bring along with you.
Young people under the age of 13 will need to have the form signed by a parent/guardian. Young people aged 13 and over can sign the form themselves.
