Impact Report

We are delighted to be able to share with you the work we have been doing over this past years, both in the Black Country and Birmingham areas of the West Midlands and in South Gloucestershire. We trust that these reports provides a great overview of our work as well as a flavour of who we are and our commitment to all young people.

Vacancies

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of local young people? Think you’ve got what it takes to be a youth worker?

We have vacancies for dynamic, creative and enthusiastic youth workers to join our team, working in our early evening youth clubs at Thornbury or Berkeley, or both.

Skills needed are a passion to work alongside young people, initiative, sense of humour and great communication.

We also have a purpose-built venue – The Pod – next to Thornbury Skate Park, so now is an exciting time to join us.

The role includes the delivery of a creative programme of ‘open access’ positive activities. Mostly this will be in our after school/evening youth clubs, currently running on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 6.30-8pm. (There may be occasional Saturdays if we are involved in/running a community event).
The role includes planning, setting up/packing down, and evaluation, as well as face-to-face work with young people; offering support, guidance and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings and encouraging personal and social development by building trusted relationships.
We need someone with a non-judgmental approach towards supporting young people who is also fun and outgoing! Extra points if you can run engaging sports activities!
You should be able to demonstrate experience of working with young people aged 10 years upwards, including those who may display challenging behaviour, and be familiar with the matters facing young people from a range of backgrounds.
You will enjoy working with young people, relish working as part of a team, and be willing to work within a Christian ethos.
We would welcome applicants from the local area.
Level 2 Youth Work Qualification or equivalent experience preferred. However, training can be offered to the right candidate.
