Junior Volunteer Programme
The Junior Volunteer Programme is for young people aged 14 to 17 who want to volunteer with us at Krunch South West.
The Junior Volunteer Programme at Krunch South West is designed for young people aged 14 to 17 who are interested in making a positive contribution to their community while developing valuable life skills.
The programme offers a structured and supportive environment where participants can gain hands-on experience, build confidence and form new friendships. It provides an opportunity to become actively involved in our youth clubs, while learning skills that are beneficial for education, future employment and personal development.
Through the programme, junior volunteers play an important role in supporting youth clubs and community activities. This includes assisting with the running of sessions, helping to organise and deliver activities such as sports, arts, games and workshops, and supporting younger members to feel welcome and included. Volunteers may also contribute to wider community events and attend termly workshops focused on key topics such as leadership, communication and activity planning. These experiences enable participants to take on responsibility, develop teamwork skills and explore their own interests and strengths.
Participation in the Junior Volunteer Programme is also formally recognised. Young people who complete between 15 and 50 hours of volunteering can achieve the South Gloucestershire Volunteering Award, celebrating their commitment and contribution. This recognition includes the opportunity to attend the South Gloucestershire Youth Awards Evening evening alongside other young people from across the area, highlighting their achievements and the positive impact they have made within their community.
