Thornbury Skate Park has always been close to our hearts as a valued local space where young people choose to spend their time. In 2019, we installed The Pod right next to the skate park, and it has since become our home base and the hub for most of our youth provision.
But Thornbury Skate Park is now long past its expiry date and is ready for a new chapter. What began as a call from local skaters and young people has grown into a community-driven vision: a safe, modern and inclusive space for riders of all ages and abilities.
The current park is outdated and unsafe. Young people asked for more – a welcoming place to skate, ride, hang out and connect. With The Pod now thriving as a hub for mentoring, holiday clubs, events and a community café, the next step is clear: a skate park that matches the energy and ambition of Thornbury’s youth.

Together with local riders, skate park developers and the Town Council, we’re aiming to build a park that celebrates creativity, community pride and active living. With a new Community Interest Company established and fresh momentum from local riders, the dream is within reach.
This is more than a skate park. It’s a space for belonging, for movement, for community.
