LGBTQ+ Youth Group
We provide a safe, inclusive and supportive space for secondary aged children who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
This service offers fortnightly group sessions where young people can meet others with shared experiences, build friendships and feel a sense of belonging in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Sessions are youth-led and shaped by participants, combining fun activities, discussion, creative input and opportunities to explore topics that matter to them.
Our experienced youth mentors facilitate the group using a trauma-informed and non-judgemental approach, with a strong focus on emotional health, wellbeing and personal safety. Young people can access trusted advice around relationships, identity, staying safe and navigating challenges, while also developing confidence, self-esteem and a stronger voice.
The group responds directly to the identified lack of safe social spaces for LGBTQ+ young people in Sandwell and aims to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and strengthen social connections.
